Tim Hurley, Founder & President

Tim is a California native, born in San Francisco but grew up on the Central Coast. He received his Bachelor of Architecture at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, followed by an Urban Design Masters degree from MIT. Tim's urban design practice has emphasized planning and designing for urban transportation systems, with priority given to improvements to bicycle access and circulation.

Tim's passion has always been the pursuit of outdoor adventure and discovery. He's been a bicyclist from early childhood, riding for fun, transportation and exercise, engaging in organized rides, taking classes to improve his knowledge of bicycling practice, and organizing rides that encourage people to get out on their bikes. Sharing this passion with children and their families is the focus of Wheel Kids Bicycle Club. Tim's greatest enjoyment is mentoring kids as they improve in their cycling abilities, and providing them the opportunity to use their bikes as a tool for mobility, autonomy and a life-long commitment to learning and good health.
