Once a camp session is full or nearly full we'll post a notice on the Registration & Cost tab. If there's no notice you'll know that space is available.

WHEEL KIDS SUMMER CAMP

Our summer program runs 14 weeks, from May 29 through August 31. Each week offers a wide range of cultural, recreational and environmental learning opportunities (not to mention a huge amount of FUN...!), all based on our daily bicycling adventures. No two days are exactly the same – we balance programmed and free time to keep kids challenged while also letting them discover their own interests and passions. Our summer camp is for advanced beginners and up. Camp hours are 8:30 to 4:00 with a morning and afternoon extended hours option. Cost is $375/week (discounts available) and $45/week for extended care.

"...Wheel Kids is truly one of the best camps in SF!"

TWO WHEELERS CLUB

The Two Wheelers Club will get your kid riding and prepare her or him for Wheel Kids' other camps and activities. Two Wheelers is for 5 to 7 year olds who aren't yet off training wheels or other assistance, and for those still working on the skills and confidence to start, stop and ride steadily on their own. This isn't cycling boot camp - it's all about learning that riding a bike is fun. We know that learning to ride can be emotionally and physically challenging, so our coaches use compassion, humor and patience to coax the cyclist out of your kid. There's also plenty of off-the-bike time to avoid burn-out and frustration, time spent playing, reading, doing crafts or making up spontaneous and goofy games with friends. All activities occur in safe, car-free areas. Camp hours are 8:30 to 4:00 with a morning and afternoon extended care option. Cost is $375/week (discounts available) and $45/week for extended care.

MINI-CAMP

School holidays and days off don't always correspond with work holidays, so Wheel Kids offers a number of one-day camps during the school year. These mini-camps follow our summer camp field trip model, where we take our bikes out on an adventure to explore and learn about the many interesting things and places in the Bay Area. Mini-camps are for riders who are advanced beginners and above only, but they vary in their level of challenge and distance. Registrations are limited to 25 riders per mini-camp. Hours vary with the season and amount of daylight. Cost is $75, with added activity fees as required for special events or destinations.

COACH IN TRAINING

For those 6th through 9th graders who are ready to take on a leadership role, learn new skills and step up to a future coaching position, our Coach In Training program offers unparalleled opportunities. CIT's assist our coaching and management staff on a daily basis. Responsibilities include assistance with managing and supervising riders during group rides and other activities, setting up skills courses and demonstrating riding techniques, providing bike maintenance services, and being “big brothers/sisters” to their younger peers. In exchange for their services, CIT's receive training in coaching and leadership skills and, once a week, they get a break from their responsibilities and a chance to take a long guided ride with our advanced riders team. CIT's work with our Summer Camp and Two Wheelers Club groups; we encourage them to work with both, and to commit to multiple weeks to maximize their learning experience. Wheel Kids is happy to work with our CITs' schools if service requirements are part of their curriculum. CIT's hours are the same as camp hours. Cost is $200/week or $900 total for five weeks or more; we encourage a two-week minimum enrollment, ideally two consecutive weeks.
